First Week of my DCP!

The first week here in Florida was incredibly busy for the DCP participants.

We check-in the first day at Vista Way. It's one of the bigger complexes here for CPs (College Participants). Everything is a super smooth process! A lot has to happen, but Disney sets you up for success. The first thing we do is receive a planner type book with answers to everything inside. Onto that book, we get a sticker with where we are working. When I got my acceptance, all I knew was that I would be working at WDW in Attractions. That leaves literally the whole park up for grabs- but that sticker narrows down more where you will be placed. My roommate Corrina also works in EPCOT, but because she works in Future World, that is all that her sticker told her- Future World West Attractions. Agent P is the only attraction in the entirety of the World Showcase, so I knew right away when I got that sticker where exactly I'd be working. :)

After that sticker, we go and talk to the representatives from the CP Housing complexes. There are four apartment complexes, Vista Way, The Commons, Chatham Square and Patterson Court. They all have pros and cons for each of them, but I was lucky enough to be placed in Chatham Square with the roommates I requested online! It was a magical moment when I found that out. I felt so very very lucky!

After that, we get our Housing ID picture taken. Then, we go and talk to casting and get our schedule for the first week. We fill out our government paper work (I think it was an I9... I don't really remember...) and then the last thing we do that first day is FREE THINGS! Yay for free things- it's like they know we're college kids :P They had fruit for breakfast for us, and some samples of different things like laundry detergent and dryer sheets- typical college freebies haha!

That, my friends, is ONLY THE FIRST DAY!
The rest of the week is just as busy. There were randomly selected drug tests (I was selected. I went that first day at 10:30. Just enough time to find my apartment and unpack a little before I had to go back to Vista). We also had CASTING! What a beautiful adventure that is! The Casting Building is just jaw-dropping-ly pretty and full of character extravagance. After Casting, we all go to Disney University at some point for Traditions. Disney was built on Characters and their Traditions and they are still a huge huge part of everything that we do here!
